Sixteenth Summer by Michelle Dalton

Sixteenth Summer
This was the first book that I decided to read this summer and I definitely started off with a good one. Michelle Dalton brought every aspect of a great young adult read into this book. I honestly could not put the book down and was truly saddened once I finished it.
Sixteenth Summer follows sixteen-year old Anna in her home town of Dunes Island during the summer. Anna begins the summer with a negative attitude because she suspects it to be just like her other summers; repetitive and filled with shoobees (tourists). Her mind quickly changes on the first night of summer when she spots Will, an imperfectly perfect shoobee. This books explores what it is like to fall in love, be in love, and lose that all in less that 300 pages. Sixteenth Summer takes you through every emotion that Anna feels and there were many moments when I was holding back tears myself. I give this book a 9.5/10! It is definitely worth the read.
